Web Mama E-cart: Setting up Mals and Paypal
One of the first things you need to do after your Web Mama E-cart is installed is to plug it into Mals and Paypal so you can accept and process payments for orders.
1.) Lets start with Mals. First you will need to visit http://mals-e.com and sign up for an account. The basic account is free and probably all you will need. If you want to use the advanced features or a 3rd party credit card merchant than you will want to sign up for the premium account. Check over the features matrix page to decide which one is best for you.
After you sign up for Mals you will be directed to a page that gives your user id, password and tells you what Mals server you are on (ww10 etc). SAVE THIS INFORMATION!
2.) Login into Mals and click “Show Cart” on the right side, it will then ask you to create a cart because one does not exist yet. Go ahead and do this and fill in a payments password that you will remember. Now click “Cart Setup” on the left hand side. Get familiar with this page because this is where you will make all the necessary changes for your cart including shipping and discounts.
3.) On this page click “Remote Calls” and put the following in the space provided: www.yourdomain.com/go/finish.php Make sure its set to “get” in the drop down and “debug mode is NOT selected. Make sure to hit “Update Record” when you are finished! Return to Cart Set-up page.
4.) Click “Return Link” and put in your website URL without the http:// portion. Put your site name in the link text box. Make sure the first “get” option is selected below. Now Update Record and return to the cart set-up page.
5.) Click “Button styles and behaviors” and make sure “HTML form” is selected and also put a check in the “Append cart content vars” box. Update Record and return to Cart set-up page.
6.) Click “Paypal” under Payments. Insert your Paypal email address. Check the radio button next to: Website Payments Standard. Mark the radio button next to: return the customer back to the cart. See the notes below…. Then put a check in the box that says: IPN - Instant payment notification. Update record and return to Cart set-up.
7.) Optional*** Go to Payments and input the information for other manual type payments or for alternative online payments. Please check the Mals site for further information on using these options.
8.) Now go to your PayPal account and login > My Account > Profile > Web Site Payment Preferences. Select “on” for Auto Return and put in the link to your website. You may want to create a thank you page on your site to use as a landing page after the order is completed.
9.) One last step… log in to your store admin. Go to “Catalog Setup” on the right hand side. Input your Mals ID and Server # into the first 2 boxes on the left side. Server number will be “ww” followed by a number. ex) ww10
That’s it. Your site is now ready to accept orders and payment!
