Another cool web site re: Copyright
We know that it’s wrong to copy word-for-word another person’s web site, it’s called plagiarism. Not only is it unprofessional and illegal, but it also can damage your SEO ranking! Of course, not all web site owners know about copyright and some plain don’t care. Yes, it’s sad but true. The fact remains, once you put your text onto the web it’s protected by copyright law, but you need to be ready to protect it!
I found a website recently that had a neat feature that lets you check for other websites using your text. It looks for matches in phrases or even entire pages. CopyScape. Check it out and let me know what you think of it!

(0) commentsWeb Mama E-cart: Updates
A few clients may see some changes this week. The users of the Web Mama E-cart that were testing Beta Version 2.6 for me will be upgraded to Beta Version 2.62 this week. The first thing you’ll notice is the change in the way the admin area looks. The admin has a more streamlined look that should look familiar to Web Savvy Mama design clients. On your storeadmin home page you’ll also receive updates directly from this blog! You no longer have to check my website to see the latest article or tutorial, you’ll be able to see the last 2 articles each time you login to your store. The next change that will strike your attention is the page editing, the editor now works in both Firefox and IE and the editor itself has changed. The rest of the cart is the same, fixed a few slightly annoying bugs as well.
Those who are running version 2.5 will have the opportunity to request an upgrade to 2.62 as soon as testing is done. Look for updates later this month. Read More…

(0) commentsWhat do I do when I’m not designing?
Well, chances are its still something creative! I often draw, ok, do a lot of drawing. Or edit movies for fun.
When I’m not working on a website I just must do something creative. Whether its drawing or something else… it has to be a challenge or I lose interest fast! Even my kids keep me on my toes! Where do they get the energy?! … if I had half that energy…
So in this holiday weekend post I thought I’d lighten it up and share of of my “free time” creations with you.
First… here are a few drawings I did awhile ago. Ok, a long while ago, 6years? I found them the other day in the bottom of a box and scanned them in. These are my two oldest children when they were really little.
And I did say edit movies right? Definitely just a hobby but sometimes its fun to play around! Click the video image above and you’ll be directed to the video on YouTube.
So there you have it. No, I’m not creating works of art that will be hanging in the Louvre some day, but it is still fun! Read More…
